Introduction
Block Angel offers the possibility of an integration with your Xero accounting tenant, in order to leverage the best out of both platforms. This means you can fully define properties and owners in Block Angel, including all annual/ad-hoc payment demands and debt management associated with those properties – then rely on Xero to record, consolidate and categorise the transactions for accounting purposes.
Connecting to Xero
You can connect your existing Xero account by following these steps
- Log onto Block Angel
- Navigate to “Companies” which is part of Admin section in side navigation
- Click your Management Company to view settings
- Choose Integration tab
- Click “Connect to Xero” in order to see prompt for your Xero credentials
- Enter your credentials and be sure to choose the correct tenant (if you have access to more than one)
Setting Account Code
Block Angel needs to know which account code should be used from your Xero account for any payment demands being raised in Xero. This is achieved first of all by setting a default choice on the same Integration tab.
You will be presented with a dropdown which represents all the account codes that you have already set up in Xero. Choose the one that is best for your Block Angel related transactions.
Connection Status
Block Angel will show “OK” (as per above screenshot) when an active connection is available to your Xero tenant. If you have not interacted with Block Angel for a while, then it may be necessary to refresh your connection. When this happens, you will see a bell icon next to your Management Company in “Admin > Companies” section. To resolve, simply open Integration tab and click “Connect to Xero” again.
Disconnecting From Xero
If you wish to remove the connection from Block Angel to Xero, then simply open your Management Company settings, view Integration tab and click “Disconnect from Xero”
